QUESTIONS 12. A bus travelling at 15m/s accelerates uniformly at 4m/s2. What is the distance covered in 10s?
WAEC 2000 Ans: 350m ( wrong)
Solutions
Initial Velocity u = 15m/s
Acceleration a = 4m/s²
Distance s =?
Time t = 10s
Applying the second equation of motion
S = ut + ½ at²
S = 15 x 10 + ½ x 4 x 10²
S = 150 + ½ x 4 x 100
S = 150 + 400/2
S = 250 + 200
S = 450m answer
