QUESTIONS 32. A ball bearing is projected vertically upwards from the ground with a velocity of 15m/s. Calculate the time taken by the ball to return to the ground, [g 10m/s²]
WAEC 2004 Ans: 3.0s
SOLUTIONS
initial velocity u= 0m/s
Final velocity v= 15m/s
Time t taken= ?
acceleration due to gravity g, = 10m/s²
Using v = u + gt
t = 2(v-u)/g
t = 2(0-15)/10.
t = 2 x 15/10
t = 30/10
t = 3s
