QUESTION 56: A body accelerates uniformly from rest at 2m/s². Calculate the magnitude of it's velocity after traveling 9m. 

WAEC 2007 Ans. 6.0 m/s 

SOLUTIONS 

Uniform acceleration a, = 2m/s²

Velocity v = ?

Distance s = 9m

Initial velocity u, = 0m/s

Using V² = u² + 2as;

V² = 0² + 2(2)(9)

V² = 4 x 9

V² = 36

V = √36

V = 6.0m/s ANSWER
