QUESTIONS 55. A body moving with an initial velocity u accelerates until it attains a velocity within time t. The distance, s covered by the body is given by the expression. WAEC 2007 ANS:C

Solutions

Initial velocity u = u

Final velocity v = v

Time taken t = t

Distance s = ?

Using s = ut + ½at²

But a = velocity/time

a = v/t

s = ut + ½at²

s = ut + ½(v/t)t²

s = ut + ½(vt)

s = ut + vt/2

s = (u + v)/2
