QUESTIONS 33. A stone of mass 0.7kg is projected vertically upwards with a speed of 5m/s. Calculate the maximum height reached. [Take g as 10ms'² and neglect air resistance)
NECO 2005 Ans:1.25m
SOLUTIONS
mass m =0.7kg
final velocity v= 5m/s²
Initial velocity u= 0
height h =?
acceleration due to gravity g = 10m/s²
Using v² = u²+ 2gh
5² = 0² + 2(10)h
25 = 20h
h = 25/20
h = 1.25m
