QUESTIONS 27. An orange is dropped from a height of 100m above the ground level. Calculate the velocity o f the orange just before it strikes the ground.
WAEC 2005 Ans 44.7m/s
SOLUTIONS
v² = u² + 2gh
Initial velocity u, = 0m/s
Final velocity v = ?
Acceleration due to gravity g, = 10m/s²
Height h, = 100m
Using v² = u² + 2gh
v² = 0² + 2(10)(100)
v² = 0 + 2000
v² = 2000
v = √2000
v = 44.72m/s
